ICI Connect and TWP Connect are private networking platforms that help like-minded people find and connect with one another online or in-person. There is currently no forum functionality or any online community space; all connections happen one-on-one via private messaging. ICI Connect is for people thinking critically about the mental health system. TWP Connect is for people on the withdrawal journey.

What is the difference between ICI Connect and TWP Connect?
ICI Connect is for anyone thinking critically about the mental health system, which might include current or former psychiatric patients; family members of people who feel stuck in the mental health system or who are struggling to come off psychiatric drugs; questioning mental health or medical professionals; lawyers and advocates; educators and researchers; or concerned citizens.
TWP Connect is specifically for anyone at any stage of the psychiatric drug withdrawal journey, whether that person is just beginning to question his or her relationship to psych drugs, or is many years off of them. Please note: TWP Connect is not for family members or other supporters; it is specifically for people who are currently taking or have in the past taken psychiatric drugs.
If I want to join both Connect platforms, can I use the same username and password for both accounts?
Yes! We designed the Connect platforms so that you can join both with the same username. Pick one platform to join first, and then, once you have been accepted and log in for the first time, you’ll see an explanation for how to join the second platform.
How do I log into the ICI and TWP Connect platforms?
TO LOG INTO TWP CONNECT (which is the connecting platform for people on the withdrawal journey)
1. Go to withdrawal.theinnercompass.org
2. Click ‘Log in’ in the top right corner and log in
3. Once you’re logged in, click ‘TWP Connect’ in the top right corner
4. This will take you to the home page of TWP Connect. Here, you will find tips and explanations of how to search for other members and use the platform.

I am having trouble registering for Connect, what should I do?
We are sorry to hear you’re having troubles! Before reaching out to us, please return to the registration form and make sure you’ve taken the following steps:
- Make sure that you’ve placed a pin on the geographical map near where you are located, which you can do by typing your city/town and state/country in the search box in the upper right corner of the map and pressing “return”.
- Make sure that you’ve filled out each field that has a red asterisk. You might also want to make sure you type out your written responses in a separate document so that you don’t have the risk of losing them.

How can I search for other Connect members and view other members’ profiles?
To search for other members, you have to first make sure that you’re logged into your account, which you can do by clicking ‘Log In’ in the top right corner. (If you are already logged in to your account, you’ll see ‘My Account’ and a link to the Connect network you’re a member of.)
Once you are logged in, you can click on the Connect link in the top right corner to be taken to the platform’s homepage.
There, you’ll see a tab that says ‘Member Search’. Click on that to search for members. You will see various search filters that can help you refine your search for other members based on geographical location, interest, experience, and need.
How can I cancel my Connect account?

I can’t see myself in the list of members in Connect. Is my account visible to others?
Yes! The platform is designed so that each member can see other member profiles in the network, but not themselves. So, though you can’t see your own member profile, others can.
How do I edit my Connect profile?
To edit your profile, log in to your account, and then hit ‘My Account’ in the top right corner. You’ll see an ‘Edit’ tab, a ‘Basic info’ tab, and a tab for the Connect platform(s) that you are a member of. You can click on any of these tabs to make editorial changes, being sure to click save afterwards.
How do I access my messages on the ICI/TWP website? I have received a message from another member, but when I log on I can’t find them!
Messages from other members are not stored on our website, but rather are routed directly to the email address you have registered with your Connect account, so all messages will be found in your email inbox. You can try searching for do_no_reply@theinnercompass.org or for “Inner Compass Initiative” if you’re having trouble finding it-- that should help!
Can I join Connect if I live outside the United States?
Yes! Our Connect platforms are accessible to anyone anywhere in the world.
Where can I find all the conversations happening in Connect?
There are no forums or discussions within our Connect platforms. Their main purpose is to help people connect one-on-one based on geographical location, personal experience, and interest. The way that people connect with one another through our platform is by searching for other members using our search filters, and then contacting individual members directly through the mail icon on each member's profile. The message is then routed through our website to their off-site email address, where the conversation can continue.
In case you’re struggling to find where you actually search for other members, you should log into your account in the top right corner, click on ‘ICI/TWP Connect’ in the top right corner (depending on which Connect you are a member of), and then click on ‘Member Search’.
